Ultra Chic, Ultra Cool..the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa
The week Team London was very privileged to hold a team brainstorm in one London’s Ultra Chic hotels away from the hustle and bustle of the West end at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa…Ahhh yes Spaaa I’ll get into that one a bit later.
The hotel is located along the River Thames, Chelsea Bridge and right opposite Battersea Park (A great escape for a long stroll or a brisk run first thing in the morning!) a perfect location for both the on vacation leisure travelers and the very busy business travelers, all in all offering world class services and facilities.
The hotel has 216 spacious rooms, and believe me they are spacious! I and my colleague Leanne were very privileged to have a show around of this ultra chic hotel starting off with the Standard room which was very spacious indeed. All the rooms rest assure are equipped with very cool interior, cool as ice must I say, very modern, very chic, very crisp very coolll! The reason why I say very cool is because the ambience of the room is breathtakingly fresh a lot of white going on from the walls to the furniture with a dash of color here and there. What also makes all the rooms in the Pestana unique they all have separate bath and shower facilities even in the standard room’s, the best part for me was the mood lighting in the bathroom, in the shades of blue and purple which you can adjust to different levels…perfect for your very own disco in the bathroom! (Well I and Leanne thought so…) now you do you see the coolness of these
rooms? We also very happily visited one of the suites on the executive floor which again offers very spacious cool accommodation (I love the word cool today) with even a wet bar facility, lounge area and……..wait for it a T.V in your very own disco light bathroom! Not only was I amazed by the rooms but also the views of Battersea park from the Standard room we were in. Right opposite the suite we popped into the Executive lounge which again had the chic factor! And an awesome view of the racetrack for the Red bull X-fighters who will be fighting away this weekend, plus they all are staying at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge how lucky they are!
Our final stop was at the Spaaa, and my god was it total tranquility. Upon entering the focal point was the very large indoor swimming pool encrypted with different color lights that change from blue to green, green to red, red to purple
basically all the colors you can think of in the rainbow, how cool is that your very own disco in the pool! The spa had a Moroccan feel to it, from the ambience and surroundings even the products used for treatments are from morocco and 100% natural! How lushhh! The Spa boasts not only treatment and a relaxation area but also a steam room, sauna and a gym everything you need to drift away to that place you have never been before!!
So to round it up if you want to try something different on your next leisurely or businessey stay in London, with a touch off real ice coolness please do consider the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa I’m sure you will come out as cool as a cucumber!

In the summer time and the weather is high….
As I walk my little pooch (Rio, my little fluffy friend who I picked up during my time in Cyprus) through the glorious wonderland that is Clapham Common, I start thinking how lucky we are to be in such a wonderful green city. In fact for those of you who don’t know, London is actually one of the greenest city in Europe! With its 8 Royal parks, Garden Squares (100 in Kensington & Chelsea alone) Council Parks (including Victoria Park and Battersea Park) and lots of other green spaces, London has an abundance of open natural areas.
And so many of our lovely hotels have been blessed with wonderful locations, just a stone through away from these green oasis’, little (in some case not so little) pieces of paradise. To name but a few – Pestana Chelsea Bridge (Battersea Park), Hilton Park Lane (Green Park & Hyde Park), The Danubius (Regents Park), Thistle Kensington Gardens (Kensington Gardens…who would have guessed!).
Take a picnic, take a frisbee (I was going to say football, but I know football is a sensitive subject at the moment for some of you..oopppsss! Did I say football…never mind, moving on..)… where was i…oh yes…There are so many things to do on a lovely day such as today. Children playing, people singing, crazy people working out (in this heat!), others strolling round the wonderful trees & flowers, you can even take the opportunity to row row row a boat on the glistening lakes (watch out for the swans though…). The possibilities are endless! Why would we want to be anywhere else this magical summer time!
I shall leave you with a little song by Mungo Jerry, as we are big fans of singing in the London office (even though let’s just say, some are better than others…) ‘In the summer time and the weather is high and you can stretch right up and touch the sky, oh when the weather’s right, you got hotels you got hotels on your mind, have a drink, have a drive, go out and see what you can find……’

Pestana Chelsea Bridge – a hotel with everything AND white chairs ‘n sofas!
‘To the new hotel in Chelsea please’ – the Pestana Chelsea Bridge we said to the cabby, ‘it’s just over Chelsea Bridge then on the left’. Said cab driver clearly thought we were mad – ‘there’s no hotel there’ he said, ‘but tis new’ we cried, he wasn’t convinced until he literally saw the hotel sign proclaiming it’s new-dom, then he just got plain mad stating how no-one ever tells the cabbies, but now that he knows he’s going to tell everyone – we were sure the hotel would be happy at that!
Once checked in, the stand-outs to these box-fresh rooms were the blue light in the bathroom & of course the window looking into the bedroom from the bathroom (don’t forget to draw the blind!). As this is a purpose build, the size of the rooms are thankfully better than the average London hotel size, but the real speciality….. white chairs, white sofas, yes, I said white! In all the rooms! Crazy but excellent!!
The remainder of the rooms we were shown were all truly chic, and those with balconies overlooking West London & of course Battersea Power Station (it’s literally next door) are a real gem.
The bar is spacious, comfy, and the hilarious bar staff (seriously ask for Luke!) all make the hotel a hugely welcoming environment.
We were truly spoilt as the management treated as to a beautiful meal in the equally as stylish restaurant, check us out….
Finally – when the morning after came round – the breakfast – or should that be breakFEST! Wow wow wow, if my stomach allowed I would literally eat there every morning.
Sometimes a brand new hotel can go a bit awry, but these guys at the Pestana have got everything just right – thanks guys…. can we come back for more please!!!!
