Marriott Christmas time, mistletoe and wine….
Christmas time I hear you ask? Christmas time in July???? I know, I know, but for those of us at the Marriott London Heathrow last night it was very much Christmas
Who said Christmas had to be celebrated in December anyway? The Marriott London Heathrow proved to us that you can enjoy the festive spirit at any time of year, even the middle of summer!
Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, presents, life size drummer men, beautifully decorated tables, the most amazing food, pink champagne (we particularly like pink champagne in the pink palace
). The mood was also set by a professional pianist playing in the centre of the room on a grand piano, wonderful!
I have to make a special comment about the food which really was incredible. Not only was there the option for a full on Christmas dinner, spectacular deserts (the pastry swans being my particular favourite)
but also an array of seafood, I was literally in food paradise! There was freshly sliced smoked salmon, killer prawns (I really can’t remember seeing prawns this big, lost count of how many I had!) and most impressive were the fresh oysters which were being opened as required with a selection of toppings to choose from (it was great fun trying to convince some of the Marriott team to try oysters for the first time, and we were successful!). I would definitely recommend a visit the restaurants Tuscany Ristorante and Allie’s American Grille. Daniel has always talked about how amazing Marriott food is and now I have tried it firsthand I would definitely have to agree!!
The Marriott London Heathrow overall is a lovely hotel and I want to say a special thank you to Francis, Ernie and Lisa (from the Marriott team) for making my first trip to Heathrow with lastminute.com a memorable one

OOhhh – Pastry swans. We’ve got some of them running around the palace grounds.
What a great resource!
